I moved a lot as a child, growing up in four different countries on two continents. I kept a suitcase full of letters I wrote with friends. Some I have managed to stay in touch with to this day!
The days of snail mail might sound nostalgic, but the fundamental need to keep in touch and reach out is timeless.
When we embarked on our own adventure in 2005 of starting Ojolie, we also made a huge change in our lives. We sold our house and said goodbye to our friends in the US. We wanted to show our children the world and have more quality time together.

Press & Reviews
Once again I was reminded of the need to keep in touch — and our new journey of living halfway around the world provided lots of new inspiration for my animated stories. This was how Ojolie was born. Over the years I have received touching messages from members all over the world who share how my cards have made a difference in their lives. That is tremendously rewarding and joyful.
Our illustrations and animations make it easier to express what might be difficult in words alone.

Studio Work
Follow our social media to see more of what happens in the studios of Ojolie. We hand-paint elements and backgrounds in watercolor and gouache, cut out paper elements, and sketch animation sequences before finishing the cards via the various digital tools we use. We relish the freedom and creativity that flows from getting elbow-deep into paints as much as dreaming up new ideas outside the studio on a walk in nature, while traveling or on a trip to Copenhagen, or while getting lost in a beautiful book from the library with vintage floral illustrations. The diversity of the inspiration and the projects keeps us endlessly curious, and we hope that same sense of wonder finds its way to you.
It's All Storytelling
Each card is a short story. Each card starts with one main goal — I want to tell a story that somehow makes a difference. I want to make you laugh, warm your heart, hit you in the solar plexus of our shared human experiences. I do that the best way I know, by drawing on my own personal experiences and inspiration from living in diverse cultures, traveling the world, books I have read, and things small and big that I come across in my daily life. Thank you for sharing in this journey!
